Maria’s Story

Meet Ms. Maria.

She is a 92-year-old widow who lives in Honduras. For her entire life, she has lived in a house made of plastic and metal, which she gathered from the street and trash heaps. This make-shift house provided very little shelter from inclement weather and the hot days.

As Going Global began their work in Honduras, they met Maria and decided to help restore her dignity and provide her a safe place to call home. Today, Maria now has a place to call home thanks to all who help us as we empower the powerless and bring identity to the faceless.

On move-in day, many of her friends and neighbors came to celebrate with Ms. Maria because she finally had a place to call home.
